San Diego songwriter Lindsay White will be headlining an evening of original music with Fresno songwriter Victor DesRoches Saturday, August 17 at VISTA Theater, 1298 N. Wishon Ave. Fresno CA. 93728 in the Tower District.
Originally hailing from Corcoran, White is touring the Southwest and West Coast regions with her indie/folk duo this summer. White's songwriting has earned recognition from Telluride Bluegrass Festival, Kerrville Folk Festival, and American Songwriter Magazine. Her latest record Lights Out debuted #2 on the iTunes Singer-Songwriter charts, was named #1 Album of the Year by Global Texan Chronicles, and earned her the 2018 San Diego Music Award for Best Singer-Songwriter. She has opened for notable acts such as The Lone Bellow, David Crosby, Steve Poltz, Susanna Hoffs (The Bangles), Raining Jane ft. Jason Mraz, and more.
"I love having the opportunity to tour the West Coast, and I always try to arrange a stop in the Central Valley. It's awesome to be able to catch up with relatives, former classmates, and old friends,” said White.
Victor DesRoches has been regularly performing his original songs in the Fresno area since 2003—including the past 10 years with his band Boxcar Figaro.
“I originally met Lindsay through Folk Alliance and I’ve always loved her music. Her last album, Lights Out, has been on my playlist since it came out.” said DesRoches. “She’s really a gifted writer and I’m very excited to be working with her on this show.”
Along with the performance that begins at 7:30. Lindsay and Victor will host a performing songwriter workshop before the show from 5-6 pm. They’ll discuss songcraft, performing tips, and issues related to the business. There will also be time for a Q&A to discuss items important to attendees.
